About This Role
We are seeking a certified and detail-oriented Medical Coder to translate clinical documentation into standardized medical codes for billing, insurance, and record-keeping purposes. This is a fully remote position within a professional healthcare administration environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient medical records, physician notes, and clinical documentation
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Ensure coding compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and facility policies
- Identify discrepancies between medical documentation and coded data
- Submit coded claims to insurance companies and follow up on denials or rejections
- Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify documentation when needed
- Stay current with changes in medical coding standards and regulatory updates
COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE
- Part-Time: 1 to 4 hours per day
- Full-Time: 4 to 7 hours per day
- Pay Rate: $35.00 to $50.00 per hour

Requirements
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) is required
- Proficient knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and medical billing software
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity standards
